| What Happens After My Test? |
|
| Your doctor will analyse your test results
and will be able to discuss the outcome. In most cases, the
results will indicate normal or low increases in cardiac risk.
Your doctor will be able to advise you as to how you can prevent
the on-set of heart disease. |
| |
In some cases, the data may need to be
sent to an expert for further analysis. This does not necessarily
mean that there is a problem, but the results are not completely
clear.
Although HRV is a good indicator of cardiac risk, other factors
also influence the autonomic nervous system. These include stress,
certain medications, diabetes or other illnesses that might
alter the metabolic status.
Although there is a range of normal values, these vary depending
on your age. Your doctor will indicate to you whether you need
to make changes to your life style or need to undertake further
medical tests. In a few cases, this may require you visiting
a cardiologist. For many cases, these tests are undertaken as
a precautionary measure. However, for some patients, a genuine
problem may be identified, in which case your early detection
can be treated immediately before any serious conditions appear. |
